Honkai Star Rail: All Path of Erudition Blessings and Brain in a Jar Guide
Honkai Star Rail's Path of Erudition revamps Simulated Universe with Ultimate damage, AoE pressure, and Brain in a Jar—plus Resonances and Blessings.

When Honkai Star Rail rolled out patch 1.6, the Simulated Universe got a serious shot in the arm with the arrival of the Path of Erudition. Gamers who have been grinding Gold and Gears or other Simulated Universe variants know that a new Path is not just a cosmetic change; it is a whole new ball game. The Erudition path leans hard into Ultimate damage, AoE pressure, and a quirky charge mechanic called Brain in a Jar. This guide breaks down the Path Resonances and every available Blessing so players can hit the ground running.
What is Brain in a Jar?
Similar to mechanics like Devoid and Aftertaste, the Path of Erudition brings its own flavor to the table. The Brain in a Jar mechanic states that Temporary Energy may be granted to characters to enable them to use an Ultimate for an extra time when they use it in ways other than Brain in a Jar and if the Brain in a Jar Enlightenment Charge ratio is 100 percent. The temporary Energy lasts until the start of the new turn. If the Ultimate is activated an extra time, it consumes all Enlightenment Charges. In plain English, the game dangles a free extra Ultimate opportunity in front of players, but it requires careful timing and charge management.
Path Resonances for Path of Erudition
Activating the Path Resonance inflicts Synapse Resonance on all opponents and deals Imaginary damage to them. The Ultimate deals more damage to the enemy with the highest Max HP when it activates Synapse Resonance. Synapse Resonance also activates more times when characters defeat opponents with the effect. On top of that, the Path Resonance regenerates Energy when new adversaries are summoned or encountered.
Synapse Resonance itself is the star of the show: the enemy with the highest Max HP will take additional damage after getting hit by a character, and that damage scales with the character's ATK stat. This makes the Path of Erudition a serious pick for players who enjoy chunking down elite enemies and bosses.
1-star Blessings of Erudition
The 1-star Blessings dish out steady, no-nonsense value. Depending on the number of Blessings of Erudition a player has in possession, Ultimate damage gets higher. Ultimate CRIT Rate and Ultimate CRIT DMG also receive boosts. After a character uses their Ultimate, the damage of their next attack increases. If players lean into AoE abilities, the character's ATK stat increases after using a categorized AoE ability. Finally, characters get healed after unleashing their Ultimate, which adds a bit of sustain to the mix.
2-star Blessings of Erudition
The 2-star Blessings are where the Brain in a Jar starts to shine. Ultimates deal more CRIT DMG if activated with the Brain in a Jar, and the CRIT DMG bonus lasts until the character's next attack. A character's Energy charges the Brain in a Jar when it surpasses its limit. Characters obtain a Shield when activating an Ultimate using the Brain in a Jar. After an attack, characters deal additional damage based on the number of enemies hit and the number of enemies defeated during the battle. All Ultimates deal increased damage and, after entering battle, regenerate Energy. The character's AoE ability deals additional damage based on the original ability damage if it only hits one opponent. Unleashing an Ultimate delays the actions of all Weakness Broken enemies, which can give the squad room to breathe.
3-star Blessings of Erudition
The 3-star Blessings are the heavy hitters. The Brain in a Jar charges when attacking a Weakness Broken enemy or breaking an enemy's Weakness, and its Energy increases after entering combat. Inflicting lethal damage to enemies charges the Brain in a Jar, and characters receive an SPD bonus when the Jar is fully charged. The final 3-star Blessing increases Ultimate RES PEN bonus, with the RES PEN bonus of Ultimate damage scaling up based on the maximum number of enemies attacked during the battle.
Why It Matters
The Path of Erudition is not just a pile of damage boosts; it rewards players who juggle Brain in a Jar charges, AoE coverage, and smart Ultimate timing. In Gold and Gears and other Simulated Universe formats, the combination of Synapse Resonance, extra Ultimate casts, and scaling buffs can turn a struggling run into a victory lap. Players who enjoy seeing huge numbers pop up on screen will feel right at home with this Path. As the Simulated Universe continues to expand, Erudition remains a strong option for anyone looking to push deeper and clear harder content without reinventing the wheel.
